Jose Alvarez
Spanish
Jose, a native of Honduras, graduated with a teaching certificate in 1991, a BA in Theology in 1996, and received his Professorate in Theology in 2005. He pastored a local church in Honduras for 10 years and moved to Vancouver in June 2006, with plans to pursue a Master's in Divinity at Multnomah. He has been married for seven years and has two daughters. |

Sarah Beth Armstrong
Fine Arts, Health, Career Education
Sarah Beth graduated from LIFE Pacific College in 1999 with a BA in Bible and an emphasis in teaching. She began working at VCHS as a subsitute teacher in the spring of 2000 as she pursued further education at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. In May 2004, she graduated from Concordia with a teaching certificate in secondary health education and Oregon and Washington teaching certifications. |

Lisa Brown
Lunch and Facilities
Lisa has been a Christian for 19 years and married for 17 years. She met her huband, Tim, at college in San Diego, CA., but has called Vancouver home for 15 years. She homeschooled her daughter Sarah and son J.T.. who are now part of the VCHS student body. She enjoys cooking for the students and visiting with them during their lunch hours. |

Susan Carlson
Math and Science
Susan holds a BS degree from U.C. Davis in mathematics with a minor in education. She holds a teaching certificate with a secondary math endorsement. This is her second year teaching after taking time to raise four wonderful children. . |

Dan Davis
History and Physical Education
Dan graduated from Vanguard University with a degree in religion in 1985. He graduated with a Master's degree in teaching from George Fox University. He is married and has five children (three boys, two girls). |

Cheryl Delamarter
Director of School Development/Public Relations
Cheryl's background is in leadership, administration, counseling, and public relations in Florida. She has also been a full-time mom, raising and discipling her own children. For the past 16 years, her ministry has been in a teaching capacity at the elementary level striving to motivate children toward excellence academically, spiritually, and socially, modeling Colossians 3:23. |

Peggy Koppes
Language Arts and French
Peggy holds a BA in education with a focus in French and English, as well as an MEd with a focus in technology. She has attended several intensive language programs in France, including alpha b, E.L.F.E., and L'Universite de La Rochelle. Peggy and her husband Larry have five children (four boys and one girls) and one granddaughter. |

Margie Lanier
Art
Margie holds a BS in Education. She has been mentored at the Masters School of Art on Sunnyside Road in Clackamas, Oregon. Margie has 60 semester hours in the area of Bible studies, at Multnomah Bible College. This is her third year in the art department at VCHS. |

Henry Liu
Math and Science
Dr. Liu holds an honors diploma in biology, a BS in agricultural botany, and a PhD in molecular biology. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Oklahoma, then a research assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He taught high-school math and science in Hong Kong for three years, and was an adjunct faculty member at Multnomah Bible College and Seminary. He joined the teaching staff at VCHS in 2000. |

Patty Martin
American Sign Language
Patty has lived in Portland since 1993. Originally from the Sacramento area, she moved to the northwest for her husband's job as a deaf pastor for an all-deaf church. She has taught ASL part-time for 19 years, including PCC non-credit classes for 12 years and classes at the Link-Up program in Oregon City for four years. Additionally, she is a vice president for NWASL, which sets up workshops for sign language teachers. She's a proud mom of a 10-year-old daughter. |

Debbie has worked in Christian education since 1977 and as a school secretary since 1984. She has worked at VCHS since it opened in 1997. Her two children graduated from VCHS. |

Sherri Merritt
English
Sherri is a graduate of Multnomah School of the Bible with a double major in Bible. She holds a BA in Psychology, an MA in Education, an ESA credential in school counseling, and is a credentialed NILD Educational Therapist. She is married and has two boys. |

Roger Miller
Principal
Roger received a BA in teaching social studies from George Fox College. He earned his MA in educational administration from Heritage College. Roger has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and school administration. He and his wife Debi were the founders of Vancouver Christian High School in 1997. |

Linda Morris
Language Arts and Math
Linda grew up in Woodland, WA and graduated from Central Washington State. She completed post-graduate work at Portland State University. During her career in both public and private schools, she has taught from kindergarten to 12th grade. Linda is married with five children and six (absolutely wonderful) grandchildren. |

Rich Parrett
Athletic Director
Rich received his BS degree in Pastoral Studies from Eugene Bible College, where he played basketball for the EBC Deacons. He has coached high-school basketball for seven years. He and his wife Kay have been married for 22 years, and they have stwo children, Tiffany, 22, and Josh, 20, who are both attending college. Rich has been with Vancouver Christian as a coach and substitute teacher since 2005-2006. |

Joanne brings 17 years of teaching experience to VCHS, 11 of those in Christian schools. She is a graduate of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. |

Janaya Reitz
Office and Publications/Bookkeeper
Janaya graduated with a BA in communications from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as a magazine editor for 11 years before joining the staff at VCHS in 2005. Janaya is a native of northwest Montana where she met her Mr. Reitz while attending a community college. |

Stu Reitz
History, Language Arts, Journalism, Photography
Stu received a BA in journalism from the University of Oregon. He worked as a videographer in the advertising department of TCI Cablevision, then as a contract sports videographer for Fox Sports, NBC, CBS, ABC, and the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB. He spent the summer of 2000 in Europe as a videographer for the Semester at Sea program. He began teaching full time at VCHS in 2002. |

Debbie attended the Unversity of Oregon and then Warner Pacific college where she received her BS degree in Music Education and Church Music. She was the Librarian at Crossroads Christian School in Portland for seven years. Debbie's two youngest children graduated from VCHS in 2001 and 2004. Her family has been involved in VCHS since 1997. |
